At Amin Haque Solicitors, we prioritize transparency and integrity in our fee structures. Our goal is to ensure that all our clients and potential clients have comprehensive information to make informed decisions about our immigration services. This guide focuses on our immigration services provided primarily for the public. Our business-related immigration services are not covered in this guide.

Our Specialisations

Beyond immigration, we also offer expertise in Asylum applications, Human Rights applications, Human trafficking, and Modern Slavery cases. We also cater to highly specialized applications, often outside of the typical Immigration Rules, and as such, these specific costs cannot be provided in this guide.

Fee Structure

Depending on the case and individual circumstances, we may offer a fixed fee or an hourly-rated quotation. Both structures are elaborated upon below.

All prices are exclusive of VAT. VAT, charged at the current rate, will apply to our fees and most disbursements. Some cases might be exempt from VAT.

The fees we list represent our professional charges for the comprehensive legal services we offer.

Variation in Services

Each immigration application is unique, and thus the services offered might differ case-by-case.

Exclusions from the Professional Fees

Our professional fees do not cover:

- Home Office-related expenses such as application fees, Immigration Health Surcharge, etc.

- Payments to third parties like HM Revenue & Customs, HM Passport Office, Land Registry, etc.

- Counsel’s fees (with estimates provided before instructing them).

- Preparing Schedules of Absences from the UK.

- Tribunal or Court fees.

- External translation and interpreter fees.

- Expert or Agent costs.

- Non-standard postage and courier charges.

- Travel and meeting expenses.

Additional services we might charge for:

- Photocopying and printing.

- Bank charges.

- Document Certification.

- In-house Translation.

- A possible additional charge of £150 (plus VAT) if representation is needed at the Home Office’s Public Enquiry Office or Overseas Visitors Records Office (for Police Registration) in the UK.

Fixed Fees

For most of our work, we prefer the fixed fee model. This fee will not vary and is not contingent on the application's success. But any disbursements or additional expenses incurred on your behalf will be separate from our fees. If you retract your application before submission, the fixed fee and any expenses remain payable in full.

On the other hand, we also operate on an hourly rate for specific cases. The rates differ based on the expertise and experience of our professionals:

- Senior Solicitor: £350

- Solicitor (4+ years of experience): £220

- Solicitor (<4 years of experience): £177

- Trainee Solicitor or similar: £146

This covers an introductory meeting where we assess the case and provide initial advice and covers up to 1 hour including the reviewing of any documents.

Visa Applications (Standard): from £500

Includes preparing and submitting standard visa applications.

Visa Applications (Complex): from £500

For applications that require more in-depth work due to unique circumstances.

Appeals: from £500

Representing and preparing for an immigration appeal.

Asylum Applications: from £1200

Preparing and submitting asylum applications.

Human Rights Applications: from £1200

Extensions & Settlements: from £500

Includes applications for visa extensions and settlements.

Family Reunions: from £500

Naturalisation & Citizenship: from £500

Please note: The above fixed fees are our professional charges for providing legal services. They do not include disbursements or external expenses, which will be charged separately. If there are unexpected complications or if the case becomes more complex, there might be a need to adjust the fees. We'll always discuss this with you beforehand and get your agreement.

- Handling multiple applications for a similar entity or family.

- If evidence is provided promptly and you clearly meet the Immigration Rules during our initial meeting.

Disbursements are costs related to your matter that are payable to third parties. In the context of immigration cases, there are various potential disbursements. The exact fees for each can vary based on the jurisdiction, the nature of the application, changes in governmental fees, and other factors.

Below is a list of common disbursements in immigration cases along with typical fees as of last update. Please note that fees change frequently, and we will advise you of the relevant fees before you instruct us.

- Visa Application Fees: These vary depending on the type of visa being applied for. For example, a Tier 2 (General) visa will have a different fee than a spouse visa.
- Immigration Health Surcharge: A fee payable by certain visa applicants to access the UK's National Health Service.

How long will my application take?

We cannot guarantee how long the Home Office will take to process your application. Read the current processing times.

We will normally be able to submit this type of application within 1 week of you instructing us, provided that you provide all the necesarry information and documentation on the date of instructions, otherwise it is 1 week from the date we receive all the information and documentation needed, but we will let you know at the earliest opportunity if it is likely to take longer than this.
